MyGreenVentures is a revolutionary and disruptive socio-economic fundraising platform that is a cross between conventional crowdfunding and the traditional African social crowdfunding (aka susu, tontine, likelemba, djangi, etc…). It’s proprietary Turnkey Opportunity Program (TOP) designed to raise venture capital for investment in social impact projects in diaspora communities across North America. We want to stimulate the growth of non-accredited investors in North America. The actual fundraising consists of organizing participants into groups of 12 members each. Within each group, members will commit to contributing a sum ranging from $500 to $5,000 per month each (maximum allowed by federal law) for a period of 12 months. And the funds collected each month will then be applied to thoroughly the vetted short to medium term investment vehicles offered on the platform. This is the basic foundation of African social crowdfunding, with one critical exception: instead of remitting the monthly collection to one participant after another month after month, the funds are invested on a platform instead. The advantage lies in the opportunity to realize a ROI instead of collecting exactly what one puts in without a single penny of interest over time.
